Why We Chose This Way
We could choose one fabric. One supplier. One standard border. One predictable combination.
We could keep everything ready, stitch it quickly, pack it quickly and send it to you quickly. You would get your clothes sooner.
But somewhere along the way, you would also get something that could have been made by anyone.
And that was never why Poonghuzhalii existed.
We came here because we wanted to put together things that weren’t usually put together.
Because we wanted craft to sit beside craft.
Because we wanted an unusual garment to exist without becoming so expensive that only a handful of people could own it.
Because we believed beautiful, thoughtful clothing shouldn’t have to choose between being different and being accessible.
And maybe that is why we take the longer road.
Not because we don’t know how to make it faster.
Because we know exactly what would have to be sacrificed to make it faster. And we aren’t willing to sacrifice that.
So when your Poonghuzhalii parcel takes longer than you expected, we hope you remember this: Your garment wasn’t sitting somewhere, waiting for us to finish it.
It was being gathered. A fabric from here. A weave from there. A border we fell in love with. A craft we refused to replace. A detail we could have removed, but didn’t.
Until, slowly, all those separate little things become one thing that belongs to you.
And perhaps that is the most beautiful part. One day, you will put it on.
You won’t see the waiting. You won’t see the looms. You won’t see the hands that printed, dyed, wove, matched, cut and stitched.
You’ll simply look at yourself and think. “This feels like something I haven’t seen before.”
And maybe then, just maybe,
the wait will finally make sense:)
